Selecting type from dropdown should activate selected type

Description
When you are using standard Content management, when you click and select something from the dropdown it select automatically the choosen type. Selecting type activate the type checkbox, selecting category - checkbox of taxonomy is activated.
This should be implemented to cmf as well.

I agree. Any idea of how to do this, or any Drupal examples (preferably in core) of it being done?

I can't figure out how to do this and no one has come forward with an idea.
