I'm using drupal to run an internal notice board.

I use the event module to let employees inform others about their planned holidays etc.

Clicking on the day view looks like this:

How can I make all those naste Printer links go away?

....or should I be using some other solution apart from Event?

Try posting your query in the event issue queue. Module maintainers usually don't look in the forums for support requests.
