Hey Guyz,

Need some help here , been scratching my head with views module for a minute . How can i get views to list files uploaded by each user in a table . But the result in table will depend on a taxonomy term selected from a dropdown menu .

for instance :

Term : biology

File User
---------------------------------
Molecules.pdf Paul sacks
Aluminum.doc Janet Cole
Drool.zip Alice Mad

Create a files view, add a filter for 'taxonomy:term', and set the "style" in basic settings to "table". Then you can add fields for whatever you want to show-- file name, size, node author, etc.

Thanks for your suggestion .

The trouble is that when using file views , under filters , taxonomy option does not show , all i get is upload and file .
Although taxonomy shows up under filters if i select node views .

Ah ok... you have to also add the "upload: node" relationship. Then you'll be able to pull in node items like taxonomy.

it works now , i swear views is real pain if you dont know how to use it . someone ought to write about book just for that module..
