I don't know who to ask so I ask Drupal community members. I plan to start blog or website but not sure how the income potential. I checked alexa ranking compare to compete.com monthly unique visitors on certain sample sites. Here are the results:-

I believe the sites that make most money are those with most unique visitors in a month but how come gougou.com with better alexa ranking have 40k unique visitors compare to mashable.com with poorer alexa ranking but with 1.3 millions unique visitors? Any explaination behind this traffic?

Besides compete.com and alexa.com, any other web tools or websites that provide traffic analysis with more accurate result?
