Not sure if this would be a feature request or a bug?

Under the Merge Variables options:

"Available Drupal variables are any Profile, Bio module or Token variables for the given user."

Since Bio module is/ has been replaced by the Content Profile module, is it possible to pull variables created through the Content Profile module? I created First Name and Last Name fields in the Content Profile module, but they do not show up in the drop-down of Merge Variables.

Currently removed support for any external profile module and I updated the text accordingly. A patch, in the form of a an additional module, to work with Content Profile, would be welcome.

I wish I could help, but I've got zero development abilities...

So until someone builds this patch, there won't be a way to merge the user's actual First and Last names to Mailchimp, correct?

Sure, use the profile module or any other one that integrates with Token.
