Is it possible to translate Kaltura like other Drupal modules?

I assume that the installation on our own server can be translated, but how about the pop-up window for uploading media?

Yes, it is possible.
you can either do it your self or have the Kaltura professional services do it for you.

If you want to do it on your own take a look at the project page in Kaltura.org

all the source code is available thorough there, as well as documentation and forums where you can get support.
