Hierarchical Select/Delegator JS problem

I can confirm this problem based on the Feb 15 dev version of CTools.

This likely means that http://drupal.org/node/367213 should still be open.

I originaly thought this was a problem with Hierarchical Select and did a little debugging there before I turned off several modules and turned them on one by one until failure when I turned on Delegator (see http://drupal.org/node/374354).

rick_deckard: Why in the world should we have two issues open about the same problem? I really, really don't understand the mentality that does that. It just confuses things more. The problem identified in that other issue was fixed. Maybe there's something else going on but this issue, clearly, is open. Sigh.

There is no reason in the world for that and I'm not saying that at all. I was trying to sort through the confusion. Obviously we shouldn't have two issues open for one problem. We should have the *right* issue open for the problem if it is one problem.

I'm thinking that what is reported here is a secondary effect and that this issue should be closed and the root problem addressed. I didn't close any or open any because I'm not sure what the root cause is and don't know for certain whether it's a delegator issue or a hierarchical select issue.

But right now there are what I'm guessing to be 3-5 dupes on this issue. So I was trying here and elsewhere to at least point to the dupes, or what I suspect to be dupes, so that you folks can clear a lot of those issues as such and leave just one (or two if that's the case) open, and preferably the one that describes primary effects, not secondary effects.

Yeah, I saw that and referenced it over the HS side.

I also told Wim I'd give him root access to a test site so he could see the problem in action if he wanted to see another site besides yours.

I really think all he needs to do is activate Delegator. I was able to reproduce the problem on a Windows machine as well as on a Linux server. So I don't think it's something quirky and difficult to reproduce. I just don't know squat about JQuery and the AJAX/JSON whatever being used here, so debugging is very slow on my end. I keep saying I'm going to sit down and learn it, but I've never done much client side.

Thanks a lot to Earl and Wim in advance to resolve this. Both modules are fine modules and looking forward to using panels-pages and HS in D6!

Subscribing, exactly same issues. I hope this will be resolved for these two great modules.

If I only disable delegator module then Hierarchical Select is working fine. Chaostools is then still enabled.

Same issue. Need Delegator for panels pages, but when enabled HS stops functioning.

Having problems, bug I dont know what the issue is because no one says what the symptoms are. This ticket is vague, it mentions an issue, but no details. It refers to other tickets and issues, and allows me the ability to tell if I am having this problem, or if this problem has been fixed.

Come on, if your going to write up an issue spend some time on it.... I dont know what the hell is going on with this thing... Merlin, will you banish this ticket to the depths of hell or at least CLOSED!

And if someone has a problem with this, create a ticket of what happens when Hierarchial Select and Panels is involved. Include Hierarchial Select and Panels Version information, Error Messages, etc...

After working with this issue Queue, I get a sense of the stupidity of some of these issues. Bless all that have to deal with this!

I must appoligize, I am having an issue with panels, and am looking through the issue Queue triing to not duplicate a ticket, and I come across tickets like this, and yes I am running these two programs, and when I attempt to save my panel it gives doesn't save, giving me a error message.

Now I dont know if that is the symptoms of this issue, or if its related to another issue.

Hi Michael, This last post of you is in my perspective a better attitude to get things done. What is your issue. HS/Ctools has a temporary patch what should work. See my post earlier.
