Please, how many authors usually have one book?! You was give too many options which is "maybe" good for someone, I realy like your module, but you give profusely options and only can make confusion with regular users.
If your module only for library that also fine, but can you give some options to remove fields if I don`t use them... like hide: subsidiary_authors, tertiary_authors....
Thanks;)

You can completely customize the input form... first start by going to the /admin/settings/biblio page and clicking on "Fields" tab. On this page you can set parameters which are common to the fields across all publication types. If a field on this page is set to "common", it will appear on the input form of ALL publication types.

Once you have made all the "global" type changes on this form, you should go back to the /admin/settings/biblio page and click the "Publication Types" tab. On this page you can hide the various types of publications, and if so desired, you can create your own types. If you click the edit button next to any of the types, you can further refine how the input form for each individual type will look. By unchecking the "visible" box next to a field, then it will not show up on the input form. If a field on one of the type specific pages is "grayed" out then that means that is have been declared "common" on the "admin/settings/biblio/defaults" (Fields) page.

I think this gives you all the flexibility to customize the input forms to your hearts content, but if you find you still can't create the type of input form you desire, let me know and I'll see what else can be done.

This ability (input form and type customization) is already available in 5.x in more or less the same place...
admin/settings/biblio/defaults

and

admin/settings/biblio/types

or were you referring to something else?

Ron.

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Oops, your right, I spoke to quickly. That feature is not available in 5.x, all the more reason to upgrade to 6.x when it's ready :-)

Title: Please » Rearrange and hide biblio fields globally and per publication type
Status: Active » Closed (fixed)

Added a more descriptive Issue title.
Status changed to closed as Biblio 6.x addresses this and I don't think new features are being added to 5.
