DHTML Menu does not show up in module list after downloading

Project:DHTML Menu
Version:6.x-3.4
Component:Installation
Category:support request
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:active
Description

The install went OK, I ran cron, checked for errors and there were none, but the DHTML Menu does not show uo in the Module List and I cannot find any error messages anywhere. There seems to be no incompatability errors anywhere that I can see.

Any ideas please

Thanks
Ken

To install the module, you would have needed to enable it in the modules list. Since this is not possible, you can not have installed it.

Could you please list the exact steps you have taken, starting with what you downloaded? :)

I have a somewhat related issue. I just installed Drupal this morning. I'm following some sample workflows in a book I purchased. I downloaded this module as instructed and installed it. I can see it fine and activate it on the modules screen. Yet, it does not appear on the Block screen anywhere, even when activated. (Again, being new to Drupal, I'm sure there's one ridiculously easy step I'm overlooking. Any help would be appreciated.)

I have the same problem.
The module was copied to: public_html/new/drupal-6.9/sites/default/modules/dhtml_menu-6.x-3.4/.
In Home » Administer » Site building » Modules I can see an enabled DHTML menu ver 6.x-3.4 but if I look at Home » Administer » Site building » Blocks there is no sign of the DHTML Menu.

I'd be very surprised if it did, since it is not supposed to show up in the block list. After all, there is already a menu block; why should it make a new one? After enabling this module, your existing menu blocks should all be using DHTML. If that doesn't happen, please re-open.

(Closing the original issue due to lack of follow-up.)

Have you by chance resolved this particular issue? I have come accross this myself, (downloaded the dhtml-menu module to the correct directory) and yet it does not appear in the modules list at all, hence no option for enabling. Please let me know if you've any advice. Thank you.

Title:DHTML Menu module instals on DRUPAL 6.9 no errors but does not show up in Module List» DHTML Menu does not show up in module list after downloading

Can you download and install any other contributed modules?

Also, which version of Drupal and DHTML Menu are you using?

If you're reading "Building powerful and robust websites with Drupal 6" by David Mercer [Packt Publishing] I think he's showing the older version of DHTML Menus. As the note on the download page says, "Note: In 6.x-3.0 and all later versions, DHTML Menu starts working as soon as the module is enabled. There are no blocks to replace and no block options to enable.". Once you enable DHTML Menus, you'll notice that the Navigation block on the left hand side of your page (in the default Garland layout) now opens without a page refresh. Check it by clicking on "Menus", which will open without automatically going to the Menus page and without a refresh. Hope this helps.

This is off-topic, but...

copy to sites/all/modules or themes similar other works.

Yes, that's the way you're supposed to do it. If that works, then you shouldn't have a problem. :)
