rotating banner not displaying after server down

I use Gnifetti with Drupal 6.8. Banner rotating was fine until now. But today may hosting server (byethost) was down for some 9 hours. Now it works, but the banner disappeared, I see only the background color. I asked byethost, and they answered:
"Pleae check your scripts code. Does your script use php sockets? PHPfsocket functionality is temporaraily disabled on free hosting accouts for the next 48 hours which is causing this issue."
Well, I am not a programmer, and I have no idea of what a socket is. Can you help me to fix this problem?
