I like the Acquia Marina theme except that it is a fixed layout scheme. There are no good reasons for it, or any theme being so, nowadays. But it is reason enough not to use it, in my opinion.

My $0.02's worth. :)

We didn't want to have the fluid option until it could be easily changed in a theme setting.... which we just did a patch for this week :) http://drupal.org/node/371498

More people prefer a fixed width theme, but having the option for either is best! Expect a variable width soon.

Check it out! I'm still figuring it all out. But I think it looks great! Aquia is an awesome template. The best coded template with the most options out of the box. And, believe me - I've almost tried them all.
