Hi,

I am building a site to showcase property that is available for rental. Is there any module available for Drupal 6.x that will allow me to do this? Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

There is a classified ad module that might work, but to do this properly you will probably need to learn how to use CCK and Views, in order to allow people to search for housing based on all sorts of different criteria (square footage, price, proximity to public transport, etc.)

I'm not entirely sure about Drupal 6, but I put together a property site with Drupal 5 that didn't require any special modules, just CCK and Views. The tricky part was getting the searching done correctly, but using views arguments I was able to get that working properly. This page helped tremendously with that:

Since my last post here I've had a few people write to me via my personal contact form asking questions about the mtdresidentiallettings.co.uk site. I've been extremely busy since then but now I'm planning a writeup on how I built the website.

I apologise but all of sudden I've gotten swamped with work, and I'm moving, so time is pretty scarce at the moment. It certainly won't be in the next week or two, but hopefully I can have something written up at the beginning of May.

If anyone has any specific questions about the site I may be able to write some quick responses in the meantime then use that in the main writeup as well. So post any specifics here and I'll get cracking on the writeup as soon as things calm down a bit here.

I do apologize yet again, but I've just been absolutely swamped with work (yet again) and haven't had the chance. In a nutshell, though, I'm not sure if the writeup is all that necessary, it would only cover specific things I did with Drupal 5. With Drupal 6 and Views 2 the property searches and filtering would be a snap with exposed filters in a block. Everything else was done with CCK, views, imagecache, etc.
