Loads of people (IMO) pollute topics and issues by adding comments like...

  • subscribe
  • subscribed
  • subscribing

...or even worse, in a vain attempt to be original:

  • With the risk of being repetitive... subscribing.
  • Definitely subscribing (the site should have an option to do that without spamming)
  • Guess what? I'm also subscribing :p
  • me too :)

What's the added value of these comments?
Absolutely nothing. On the contrary: it pollutes the forum.
It makes it hard to follow the essential comments on issues/topics.

I got frustrated again, by trying to follow this issue about XML Sitemaps 6.0 port:

Therefore posted this forum topic:

And followed Alexandre Racines advice at:

Which is: posting a feature request at Drupals webmasters forum.

Yep, here it is! ;)

Is it possible to implement a tracking mechanism,
so that fellow Drupalers not have to subscribe to all posts they're interested in?

I too would be happy to have a different tracking method!
I was indeed looking for a method, before I started subscribing and confusing many people on the forum!!

(By the way, please don't ask me to bookmark)
Thanks.

There is certainly an existing issue for this against project-issue module. I did not have decent time to look it up for you, so please do. Reopen if you did not find it, provide the link if you did, thanks. We know about this problem, and actually need people to flesh out good solutions and implement.

Thanks for the link. Visited.
Didn't know life is so complicated!
Having a ton of mails in the inbox? No way.
I would rather keep a note book and write down the node numbers!!
It's good to know that so many people are thinking about the issue.
