drummdrupalorg/blocks_and_nodes/advert.module currently powers ads on Drupal.org. It attaches ads to forums, but not a whole lot else. I'll need more information on requirements to proceed.

drummhttps://infrastructure.drupal.org/drupal.org-style-guide/advertising.html is the style guide to follow.

jredding commentedWe're currently using Google Ad Manager to manage ads and we will continue to do so. It is inexpensive, highly effective and lowers our administration of the ads shown on d..o.
The only module we would need is http://drupal.org/project/google_admanager, which (I believe) is a trivial module to add in the correct javascript similarly to how google analytics works.

drummWorks for me. Our advert module is just a thin, hard-coded wrapper around the embeds. I think I like that [google_admanager] module. I've asked the security team for a review.
The theme functions allow adding a note about the ads. From https://infrastructure.drupal.org/drupal.org-style-guide/prototype/homep...

drummhttp://association.drupal.org/advertising is where we should link to (not http://drupal.org/node/218094).

willis86 commentedGoogle now blocks more types of ads. I have two of my sites being blocked. It hurts that I miss my primary advertising media. But I think it's time to find the substitutes of Google. We can not just put all in one 'strange' company, even more when we can't control Him while he can control us.
