Hi,

I'm using Drupal 6.8 and I've got a problem that the "Automatic Alias" is still showing as ticked when I view the node that I've previously unticked and click save: For e.g...

I've got a page node with title "Website Privacy". When I created it, I unticked Automatic Alias and set my own shorter one URL alias "privacy". Clicking save, takes me to /privacy and it works fine.

My client edited the page node content and clicked save but because the Automatic Alias box was ticked by default (when it should be unticked) the auto alias was applied and overwrote my preferred one.

I've tested this myself and it's definitely happening so it's not as if the client is not accidently ticking the box, etc...

Is anyone else having this problem? and is there a solution?

Thanks,
Nick

Hi,

Yes even i had a same problem and i searched in Drupal site to get answer... later i found the answer my self, this is how it can be fixed:

go to admin/build/path/pathauto > General Settings > Update action:

Select Create a new alias. Leave the existing alias functioning.
