Description

Hey,

Very quick question: Dynamic Load is something that seems to be extremely useful to me, but as the project page says it's not stable and thus is only in the 5x-dev release.

I'm wondering if someone could define "not stable" for me in this context. How unstable is it? Is it pretty stable for simple stuff and its just not compatible with certain modules? (such as checkout, after reading different requests in the cue).

I'd like to get an assessment before I load it on my production site. I'm just looking for it to refresh certian blocks dynamically, if it can handle that no problem then I'm down to give it a try.

Moreover, is there any plans to make it stable for a 5x release?

Many thanks.

"not stable" in this case means "I (the author) haven't even glanced at the code in months and was partway through extensive changes when I gave up."

So, some things might work ;)

No, no plans for any further work.

Have you looked at http://drupal.org/project/asynchronous? Experimental, but interesting. For 6.

Bah,

It looks interesting but I'm stuck on 5 for more reasons than I can shake a stick at.

I'll try the dev I need a block to load dynamically, but I would definitely put a +1 for a stable dynamic load release.

A major reason for this is the AJAX submit. Submit via AJAX is awesome, but it's true potential is realized if the submitted nodes refresh on the same page as the submit form if you're running the node submit in a block. The potential for greatness with that type of combination would be revolutionary.

Might I be able to convince you to take another look at the dynamic load?

Many thanks!
