This has happened to 2 users (including me), both of whom use Firefox 3 on Ubuntu 8.04. I believe it started occurring after the last module update.

When editing the Body field, with FCKEditor enabled, Firefox suddenly shuts down. This results in the loss of the text entered before the shutdown. This does not always happen when editing, but happens often enough to keep users from attempting to create content, which is why I gave it critical priority.

The thread that you mentioned has nothing to do with it (unfortunately).
Looks like an issue that may be hard to trace. All I can suggest is to install the latest version of FCKeditor (the editor).
If you're still getting this error, try disabling other third party modules to check whether this is a problem between FCKeditor and some other module.
Also I'd check in Firebug if there are any javascript errors on the page where FCKeditor appears.
