Content not found/select from multiple types

Hi all,

I'm looking for help and hoping I've just got a setting wrong.

My hope is that when a freelink is added and the content doesn't exist, the user would be prompted to create the content from which ever types I've set permissions for.

I also hope that when I search for content that doesn't exist, the same prompt would show.

This is for a baseball wiki. So a stadium name and a pitcher are different content types, and the user gets to choose.

Thanks for the help. This is a fundamental aspect to my site and I'm just not sure what to do.
