After installing the coupon module, I can create coupons, but the shopping cart does not have a field where the shopper can enter a coupon code during checkout.

I currently have google and paypal enabled as payment methods.

Is there something else that I need to enable in order for the coupons to be usable?

I changed the cart payment settings to disable google and paypal, and instead do credit card payments. Now I can see a box to enter the coupon code on the credit card checkout form.

It seems that it will not work with the google or paypal checkout links, but can be used with credit card payments.

As you found, the module currently only supports coupons during checkout, not in the cart itself.
