Ability to use without the link.

You should let people know that they have to display your ugly link to your website to use your module.
Before they go through all the trouble to download and install it.

If the module uses Drupal, it's GPL licensed.
If it's distributed and GPL licensed, you can modify the code to remove or modify that link yourself, as much as you want. By law.
Maybe you can just try that.
