It may help if you could state what "on shore" is for you. It is very difficult to know whether I, or anyone else, id on or off-shore in relation to you. Even if you think of your location as the centre of the world, that is only a subjective experience and it displays a somewhat parochial attitude to assume everyone thinks the same.

I see no harm in the OP trying to find someone locally accessible or trying to support the local economy.

PS: being 'Offshore' myself (despite staying near the seaside!), i see no offence in the OP statement
