Is it possible that one can use the adobe flash player and skip installation step 4 mentioned at http://www.travistidwell.com/node/177. I have a feeling that it is already available in this module but donno how it will work.

btw it is working fine with dash media player but i was hoping if i can use the adobe flash player.

Basically, no, you can't skip this step. Not in my experience anyway. I don't think most browsers are configured to play .flv files in the browser window by default. They need a Flash player file (.swf) to display the videos and give them a player bar with play, pause, etc. buttons. And the FlashVideo module definitely assumes that you're using a Player.swf file to play your video files.

So is there any other player from which we can take player.swf and use it for this module. Just interest.

The primary one other than the Dash Player is the JW Player. You can find a link to it in either the help section that comes with FlashVideo, or on the FlashVideo project page.
