Hello...

I am VERY new to the whole CMS thing, and I would appreciate any help given. I have just started designing my website, which I want to have a forum, gallery, and storefront in it. My first go at it brought me to phpBB for the forum, and coppermine as the gallery, which i bridged so that I could use the same user database. For the store, I'm using a shopping cart program which I would like to keep separate from the rest of the site. Ultimately, I would like to make a community based website which would include a user driven blog, forums, gallery, and the store. I came across Drupal and after a little reading, i'm still not too sure if this is right for me? I also read a little on Joomla, which seems to have the things I need, but not without a bit of modifying. Could anyone point me in the right direction? If anyone has any suggestions on which route I could take or what I could look up, it would be much appreciated. My website is www.victorysquared.com .

Dude, this is what drupal is built for. Check out e-Commerce or ubercart for your storefront, lightbox + imagefield / image module for your gallery, and the core modules forum and blog.

That is a far easier and simpler solution than trying to mish-mash different packages together.

I just described some of the differences to another user at http://drupal.org/node/375852#comment-1265550

Yep-- this is EXACTLY what drupal excels at. Definitely give it a shot-- it'll be so much easier than creating and managing a 3 or 4 app mashup.

Does anyone know of some sites that I could take a look at first hand that runs drupal in a similar way like my site?
