What this means is after an image is uploaded and cropped, when Drupal serves the image it still thinks my 83kb cropped image is the original 1.1mb image that I uploaded.

This messes with page load times and also loading images inside Flash.

Sorry, unless someone provides a patch I have no incentive to work on the 5.x version.
