How do add additional file types to source code node or add highligting for an additional source type, eg

If it's not about adding language definitions to the GeSHi library, then I assume your question is how to enable languages in the GeSHi filter module.

on the GeSHi filter admin page you should have a tab "Languages" where you can enable/disable and configure the desired languages
there are three "subtabs": "all", "enabled" and "disabled" to filter the long list of languages.
