Google started paying a $1 per referral to get people to download firefox and the friendly folks at www.explorerdestroyer.com created some javascripts to that detect the browser and display a friendly message encouraging the user to download firefox if the user's browser is ie. I packaged this up in a quick drupal module so that if you want to use these scripts with drupals you just need to download the module and add a couple lines to any phptemplate theme.
Once installed you can configure your adsense account info, disable the banner display, make it appear on selected pages and configure all the scripts. If you are interested please take a look at this module and let me know how it works (I have only tested it on my server with drupal 4.6.x).

Works fantastic 4.6.3
Love it, love it, love it, If you back port this i will install on all of my sites. I'm so sick of all those sites that only work with i.e. I'm going to run on level three. Mwhahahaha
One thing i get a quick flash of the site before the explorerdestroyer script loads, this might be alright because it gives the user a peak of whats to come, if they download firefox... but it seems like it might be cleaner if the explorerdestroyer script just loaded first with no flash of the page.
Installed it - seems to work
I don't have either IE or Windoze, so I haven't seen it actually working. But adsense registered a couple firefox clicks, so it must be displaying.

From Google:
If you want to try this ExplorerDestroyer on your adsense account I strongly suggest you contact Google if this is allowed. Unless you like gambling.
Esp. Level3 'dead serious':
could be interpreted as unnatural and deceptive.
EDIT: I also think it's very unprofessional to block certain browsers.

This is only a module that provides easy access to the scripts created by explorerdestroyer.com. If you have issue with the principles then I suggest you take it up with them. As far as this module is concerned you could insert a limerick about cream cheese for level 1 and it would be none the wiser.
I do agree with you on a number of points; but, at the end of the day it is in the admin's hands, if the admin wants a banner proclaiming the greatness of cream cheese (or just how much IE sucks) they will have it whether or not a module exists to perform the function for them.
