Hey there,

i was just wondering, I have installed simplenews, but I'm thinking it doesn't have the capability to send out perosnalised emails. Does mail chimp have this capability and how would this be achieveable. Please be gentle. I am new to this stuff.

Yes, Mailchimp can send out personalised emails.

Note that Mailchimp is external to Drupal and is an email marketing service, see their website (mailchimp dot com). The Mailchimp Drupal module integrates your Drupal user data with your Mailchimp list and then you can use that data (like first name, last name, any user profile fields) to personalise the emails you send with the Mailchimp service.
