Hi, thanks for a great module.
I just installed it, and have trouble to figure things out.
I have requested two way with friend.
Friend get email with link to accept.
On accept page, there is name, message and date.
But how do i accept ? There is nothing to press, no link on name etc.
Im new and probably missing something obvious. Sorry for that :)
Thanks and sorry the poor english.

Thanks for answer.

danmurf commentedI'm also having this problem. I can only seem to issue a friend request when logged in as the admin. The other accounts can see the incoming friend requests (from the admin account), but there is nothing listed in the 'actions' column, and when I visit another user page from a non admin account, there is no option to add as a friend.
I thought, because of this, that the problem is related to user permissions but I can't find anything under the permissions section which I haven't enabled.
Any help appreciated
Comment #3
danmurf commentedDoh! Just found the answer, it was permissions (I had anonymous checked instead of authenticated).
In 'admin' > 'user management' > 'permissions' > 'friendlist_ui module' > 'have relationships with friendlist' needs to be checked for authenticated.
Hope this helps.

Anjaro commentedHi and thanks for answer.
My problem is not the same as yours.
I send an request as an non admin, so thats fine.
I just dont know how to accept the request ?
The request is recieved, but i dont know how to accept it.
Also i check the permisions, and they are good, as you described.
make any sence or shoud i just give up this module until i have learned to formulate this in proper english.

mariusooms commentedIt is all documented in the Readme...maybe start there? In any case...you probably have the menu disabled? They connections are managed through menu items. Look for the menu item 'Twoway management' and 'Oneway management'. If you rather use tabs, you can alter this behavior by altering the default included views.

Marius

Anjaro commentedHi Mariusooms, thanks for answer.
I have offcource read the document :) But mabye i just dont understand it ?
I have the two way, one way etc in the menu.
As the sender, i can press twoway send.
Here i can "cancel friend request" all good.
As the reciver, i can press twoway recived.
Here i can see the request, ok, but i can not do anything.
No links to accept the request, i can just see the request.
So, on twoway recived, i can see "name", the "message" and the "date", filled out with the right values. But what i cant figure out, is what to do whith this ? Where can i accept the request ?

mariusooms commentedThere should also be a table column listed called 'Actions'. Maybe try a different theme to see if it is theme related.

Marius
Comment #8
mariusooms commentedHere is a screenshot of the user Foxtrot who has received a request from Alpha.
This is what you should see as well :)
If not, check your permissions once more or see if the views have been altered somehow and return them to default.

Marius

Anjaro commentedThanks Mariusooms
Now i understand why im confused.... There is no table called Actions ?
I try this in IE and Firefox, and also in default theme, still no Actions and also no errors on page.
could this have happened during installation of module ? or do you have any explenation on why this is, and how i can fix this.
Again, thanks for you interrest and support.
Im glad that i finally was able to explain what was wrong :)
mariusooms commentedI have no idea why...maybe reinstall? You must be missing a step somewhere...just double check everything. Sorry, but unfortunately I have not sufficient information as to why this could happen.

Marius

Anjaro commentedok, il try to figure it out.
Thanks for help and support.

Anjaro commentedI deleted the friendlist folders and removed the entrys in the database.
Downloaded a fresh module, installed it, and activated it.
But the database entrys is not created.
Tryed twice, but still no entrys in db.
What am i doing wrong here ?
Anjaro commentedok, i realize that mabye im not clever enough for this module, so i have abandoned it for now.
I will give it a try on a later stage. Thanks for support thoug.

mariusooms commentedHi, sorry that you are struggling. As a last ditch effort, make sure you permissions look like the image attached and that your user has the authenticated assigned.

Marius

CrosiarCM commentedI'm having the exact same problem. My permissions are correct, but it gives no actions. This is a fresh install of Drupal 6.10.
hyperzmart commentedsame problem here. lucky me there is discussions like this, else one would spend eternities wondering around. thanx for the pics.
?-1) could it possibly have anything to do with "token" and/or "rules" modules?
just in case, my versions are:
- acquia-drupal-1.2.4
- friendlist 6.x-1.x-dev (first released "September 5, 2008 - 09:21" current update "February 27, 2009 - 00:09")
- token-6.x-1.x-dev ("token 6.x-1.11" from "August 2, 2008 - 17:30")
- rules-6.x-1.x-dev ("rules 6.x-1.0-beta5" from "February 25, 2009 - 21:41")
if the issue would be rooted anywhere here, looking at the dates it would likely only be "rules" causing it - even that quite unlikely though, since the current "friendlist" module version is released only two days after the "rules" module.
in case we having this issue got same versions of "token" and "rules" (guess we have) it would be of interest to know what versions those NOT having this issue uses (including "D-distro"). may not solve anything, but who knows at the moment. in case you use other versions, please let us know, also if you do have the same versions: please let us still know. hopefully it will help even more D-lovers that suffers the same issue to exclude possible causes and thereby waste less time in empty space.
?-2) finally, myself first tested "user relationships" in the same install, then one found "friendlist" whereby simply inactivated "user relationships" before installing "friendlist" in the very same install.
- have those sharing this issue done same process as me, or have you not had "user relationships" in your installs? please tell that as well and let us have one more possibility excluded.
PS: this is my first post, hope I´m not coming out to silly or stealing anybody's time.
/lots of love to all. to me Drupal taste like Happy Juice:)

mariusooms commentedIn case you use Acquia, note that it does NOT ship with dev releases. So you need to download and install the the dev release of token, NOT "token 6.x-1.11" from "August 2, 2008 - 17:30"! The dev on that page is released on 2008-Dec-11 and is highlighted in pink.
Furthermore, if you use a custom theme, make sure you can see the Drupal system messages. You could also check you log entries and see if there are any indications there.

Marius

hyperzmart commentedMY OWN ISSUE SOLVED
Marius, thank you very much. one had the feeling of silliness - what had one missed.. oops forgot to plug in the cable:)
!-1) in my case, using Acquia, I simply missed the fact Marius pointed out; Acquia ships with "token" and of course not the required dev version. this is how i did once one got the friendly hint:
- a new install without the Acquia "token" module, instead the required dev version of "token".
= issue solved, at least for me.
hope this solves the issue for you others, if so: please let us know - it would help closing the case and leaving a solution to others.
again, thank you for the sunshine!

mariusooms commented@CrosiarCM...we will need more info, especially on what you have tried to solved it and exact errors at what moments. Your message currently doesn't give us much to go on.
Also...it is good habit to create new issues rather than open closed ones, since they become unmanageable. Please open a new ticket with detailed information.

Marius
