I've installed the translation file, but the button on the slider still show up as "next" and "previous".

Is there anything else I can do to have French buttons?

whygee, if I'm not mistaken, you should change these terms directly in the javascript because there is no t() string.

I've looked into contentslider.js but I can't find the reference to "previous", do you have more info on that?

I have the same issue.
tThe strings "Next" and "Previous" is in the module code.
My language is Persian and I have to translate them, any idea how could we do that?
I tried to translate the string inside the module but the output was several question mark instead of the translated strings.
