Hi Dear,

How can i develope a community site using drupal 6?
My client is asking to develope a community site using drupal.
Is therea any module available for community site in drupal 6, I tried but failed.
please help me

There is no single module. To create a community site you use the modules you want available to the community. Therefore your client must mention what features he/she is looking for and you can be guided to modules that will satisfy those needs in the downloads area.

so can you please suggest how can I make a site like myspace or orkut using drupal 6.

This would be a really big task to be done correctly.
There are a lot of issues to think of like user images, friends, security etc.

You should look through myspace.com and see what features are available, go
through the modules with a check list and try to find the modules that match what features you want.

You might need to use a CDN if you want video and a lot of user submitted photos. Also, don't forget
about privacy for youth (under 15 years of age).

Sit down with your client and let them understand that a project like this will take some time if they
want it done correctly. Work with them to form a battle plan. Build in stages checking off each feature as it is completed.

There are many ways to build this type of site. You will just need to experiment and find the best method for you and your client.
Remember the easiest path is not always to best path. Plan ahead and make sure everything you do is scalable.

I need some more suggesstions about drupal, would you please let me know, what kind of site we can develop completely using drupal without help of a drupal developer. I mean to say that using only existing modules we can develop a complete site.

Is drupal help full for developing a real estate site, please suggest.

There are real estate sites that have been built on drupal yes. There are many sites that can be seen in the showcase forum and in the case studies section of the documentation area.

head over to groups.drupal.org

visit the social communities group for module lists and such that can be used. You can use whatever modules you want. Whether or not you can built a site like myspace or orkut depends on your skillset.

Keep in mind that 10's of thousands of hours went into some sites you are comparing to. If you are expecting to grab drupal and a few modules and turn them on and have a myspace you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

you are only limited with drupal if you are limited by your own imagination.
