Using Drupal 6.9, when an anonymous user posts a comment, there is no opportunity for them to supply a name and e-mail address, but if one edits that comment as administrator, then there is a place to put it in. Can one set an option somewhere that will cause those fields to be displayed for the anonymous user?

If so, can we control whether or not they are displayed to other, non-admin users?

Found it. Administer -> Content Management -> Content Types and the Comments section under each type. There is a choice of may not/may/must for whether anonymous commenters leave contact information. Does exactly what I want.

Thanks, Tamhas, for replying to your post with the solution. I was having the same problem. I knew there had to be a simple solution, but just hadn't found it yet. Google helped, as did your post. Problem solved.
