Hi,

installed the xmlsitemap module.
Followed the (easy) steps in install.txt
When i am logged in i get the sitemap correctly, when i am logged out I get a 404 page not found. (on /sitemap.xml and on /?

Any suggestions? Google can't read my sitemaps anymore...

The anonymous user must have the access content permission, to see the site map.
Check if that permission is set for the anonymous user, and set it if it's not set. For what I can recall, that permission is normally not set, when Drupal is installed.
