Change the one line syslog module description on the Administer › Site building page,

from:

Syslog Logs and records system events to syslog.

to:

Syslog Logs and records system events to syslog, instead of to Drupal Admin Reports.

... or maybe

Syslog Logs and records system events to the Operating System's syslog.

or maybe (depending if I misunderstood how syslog works)

Syslog Logs and records system events to syslog, in addition to Drupal Admin Reports.

background: I have found myself always checking the syslog module... because it always sounded like a good idea: "Yep. Log stuff. Check." I didn't realize that I dont want to check it, I want stuff to be in the Reports drupal menu, not in syslog. The wording might need tweeking still... but I thought a small change here might help others realize whether they want the syslog enabled or not.

'syslog' is the proper term (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syslog). If you don't know what the syslog is, you probably shouldn't enable something you don't understand. Syslog is not necessarily the operating system, etc., so I see no way to make this more clear even though we use the proper term. Marking as won't fix.
