Is it possible to control the visibility of panes to other users by their relationship? what i need is:
In my profiles, I got city, postal code, street address and phone number. city and postal code should be visible to anyone, but street and phone only to friends.

hm... i gave this another thought, and i think it would be enough, to make the panes respect the setting which is done in "Posting to social network" of the User Relationships modules.

Using Content Profiles one could then define multiple profile pages, and let the user specify their privacy.

Is this possible?

This isn't APK's domain. It would need to be done in Panels. I'm not going to move it there because it would very likely be a dupe as this is an often requested feature. I'm sure it will be done at some point, possibly by me, but no idea when.
