The 'subscribe' tab is visible on all member accounts, but if you click on it and there's nothing available to subscribe to it will display a message like "No subscriptions available".

Still deciding whether the 'subscribe' tab should display to visitors if no subscriptions are available (either no newsletters have been created or the member doesn't have permission to subscribe).

Is it better usability to show a subscribe page even if no subscriptions are available yet?

Is it OK for this tab to appear and disapear depending on permissions?

Thoughts?

Hope the subscription tab is disabled when a user doesn't have permission so we, the administrators, can test the enewsletter module without the visitors seeing it. :)

OK, this is what makes sense to me:

* If the user has access permision to subscribe they will see the tab, if not it will be hidden.

* If no subscriptions (enewsletters) are available the tab will be shown, including help test to let users know that this is where subscriptions will appear.

I've decided to leave the subscribe tab visible even if no subscribable publications are available. It's not good UI design to have tabs appear and disapear - better to have the tab visible and display a message that nothing is available.
