Could we not integrate section targetting into the teaser and body?. this would be a simple input filter that wraps the teaser and body in the !-- google_ad_section_start -- HTML

This feature is critically important, since a lot of "filler" content confuses keyword targeting. I cannot tell you how frustrating is to get ads targeted to "blog/taxonomy" keywords.

resetting the statuses. No this is not critical, since you can do this yourself, in your theme and in your content.
And I beleive adding features to a stable release is not a good idea. Hence filing this against CVS.

This has been implemented in 4.6 and HEAD.

It is ON by default, and wraps the body (if the node is in node view mode), and the teaser (if the node is in page view).

It can be turned off if the site admin wishes to do so.
