I can't get this to work properly. I use the views rotor variant, to show an IMCE CCK field. Between each image, which shows for 5 sec, there is a 10 second delay where the rotor turns all white.

Happens on all browsers I have:
IE7
Firefox latest
Opera
Google Chrome
Apple Safari on Windows.

Fade effect: show 5; effect: 1.

Perhaps there is some setting I dind't get right. Or there is some incompatibility with trying to show a IMCE CCK image field. Will try to create some content type Rotor items as well, just to make sure there isn't something wrong with my installation.

Or have I completely misunderstood the functionality? Isn't it possible to make a rotor of existing CCK fields? Must I make content type rotor items?

No, you should be able to rotate through whatever you like. The Rotor Item content type is provided for convenience. I won't be able to investigate this further until tomorrow.

Seems that when I add node: body as the field to rotate, everything works out fine. Perhaps The IMCE CCK field are to blame? What can I do to test? I have devel module enabled, but are not that much of a hacker. So I don't really know how to troubleshoot these things :)

I can't reproduce this problem. I have tested with imcefield and it works exactly as expected. What I did.

Create a new content type called 'Test'.
Add an imcefield to it.
Create two 'Test' items
Create a new view
Set the Style to 'Rotor' ( left it with the default settings - time 5, speed 1)
Add the fields node:body and content:myimcefield
Add a block display to my view
place the block in a region.

It rotates just fine... shows for 5 seconds and then does a 1 second fade. Perhaps there is an issue with your theme? Try with Garland theme.

Perhaps its the theme. I can test this later today or tomorrow when I have a lab site up and running.

I'd like to get an official release out the door soon, but want to close all these outstanding issues beforehand. Is this still a problem for you? Did you retest with the default theme?

Hi,

I tried with Garland. I can't get this to work, not with the dev version I used earlier, or the new 6.2 from today, 9 march. I'm not that sure it's something wrong with rotor module though. Perhaps I've done something wrong. I'm not that good with views. It's as the rotor slideshow shows a blanc field between each real field image. The blanc time period is one whole cycle, not some arbitrary time space.

I think you should drop it for the time. If more people have problem perhaps you can get more info.

I'm closing this due to inactivity, and the fact that no-one else has reported similar problems and that I can't reproduct it. I assume you got it working in the end?!
