Description

Does anyone have any future features they would like to see implemented in the 6.x branch?

I'm not promising anything, but possible thoughts are:

Views Integration
Bulk Data Import

Any other suggestions?

It may well be able to import the data automatically of the imdb database or others like rottentomattoes. It would be nice to lighten the work if you try to make large movie databases.

Best regards,
Barry Collins

This might be a nice feature, however, I'm not sure if it will make an actual release as I'm trying to make the module as broad as possible (I think it can be easily adapted to be used for any type of relational data, not merely movies). However, I will work on a patch or something that might be able to do this. However, it may take some time!

Import of metadata would be really useful, yes (not only concentrated on movies). Amazon, IMDb, Wikipedia, all kind of public media databases. Maybe this could be implemented as sub modules, that integrate with this module? (don't know anything about it, though)

Views integration would be very important. I don't think that it's a good solution to "predefine" lists of any kind (like: "show me all movies released in 1999") - Views might be the most flexible and future-proof solution for this purpose.

Sub modules are an excellent idea for this type of thing, as the relevant sites change their habits on occassion (more often than I would like to adapt the whole module for). I haven't started work on anything like this yet, and don't know if it would be possible, but - seeing as there are Joomla versions of data import from imdb, etc - it should be! If there is anyone that would like to give this a go, please contact me?>

I agree, and the next major change of this module - I intend to incorporate this feature.

It would be nice if we could re-arrange the order of the jobs.

I have this module installed, and would like to see further development on it. =)

Hi there,
Sorry for the lak of development on this module recently.
I now have a little more time, so will start to go through the seemingly endless list of tasks I have made!!

I think views integration is first on the list though!

Definitely the addition of genres please.

Not sure if this has already been brought up; but can the module look like an article or page with the option of inserting or embedding a photo of movie and possibly a trailer video?

Just a thought but as the IMDB reference is being stored for the movie, could the IMDB reference be stored for the person as well?
