At the moment the welcome private message is sent as soon as an account is created. I need users to verify their email address, so it would be great if the welcoming private message could be sent after a user had verified their email address because as it is they receive a notification of a private message that they can't access.
If that's not possible, would it be possible to make it at least be sent after the verification email, as at the moment users who register are told to look in their inbox for an email with a link. Private message notification is on by default so when the welcome private message is sent it triggers an automatic private message notification and that is actually arriving in the inbox before the verification email. Obviously, if users haven't verified their email address they can't access the private message they are being told about.
Any help would be fantastic.

berdirI'm closing old issues since Privatemsg for Drupal 5 is not maintained anymore. I suggest you switch to Drupal 6 if possible, many of the reported issues are probably already resolved there and if not, you're welcome to open a new issue.
