Can you include the changes commented on http://drupal.org/node/227168? I've donde the same changes this morning (see the file attached) because I don't read the issue it would be useful add it. If you need I can help you.

We might want to just have an optional dependency on http://drupal.org/project/mousewheel ..... Thoughts?

I've deactivated from my module and the scroll continues running without the wheel, yes it could be an optional feature.
