Description
/admin/reports/updates reports 6.x-1.0 of getID3() when 6.x-1.2 is installed. It was doing the same under 6.x-1.1. I tried uninstalling (using the uninstaller) and re-installing, but it is still reporting back as 6.x-1.0. Please advise. - Erich

Make sure you downloaded 6.x-1.2.

I did. Made sure I downloaded 1.1 and then 1.2 when it was available. I have 20 sites with Drupal with many modules. This is the only one that has falsely reported an upgrade. But has been reporting 1.0 even with 1.1 when released and now 1.2. I also completely removed the getID3 folder and gunzip's the 1.2 tar file.

I had this same issue, but never got around to reporting it. It never happened for me that I can recall until I went to the 6.x-1.2 version. And I tried and tried and tried and tried... trying different methods. I have even gone to the extent to just flat out remove the old one, uninstall, whole 9 yards, then put in the new one, same deal. I've tried downloading it multiple times as well.
I'm not all that concerned about it, as I'd imagine it's probably some minor issue somewhere in the code that would get overwritten with the next update/release anyhow, and I know I have the right one regardless of what the module status page gives me. ;0)
Glad someone else brought it up.

Hmmm, it has always worked here:

I looked in the module info file and the version there even says 1.2. So, why does Drupal think it is 1.0? I'm not terribly worried, but I thought I would report it when both 1.1 and 1.2 did the same thing.

I'll checked mine again today (just did the Drupal 6.10 update last evening) and still getting the same error. For me, it's not personally a big deal, as I know what I installed. Just reporting in case it helps with any other info.
My webhost is anHosting/midphase also, in case that helps. It's a shared hosting plan, and I've had the dreaded HTTP Request error which was corrected by the web host adding an exception to their firewall for drupal.org.
Also, besides the getID3 module, I've also got installed: Audio, MP3 Player, and SWF Tools. The latter two are not in production use yet, as I've not fully converted to using either of them. And come to think of it, this error may have begun after I installed one of the latter. If I get a chance, I'll take a shot at removing them one at a time to see. I don't see how they could cause the error, but I don't understand everything in the background yet anyway.
This will be later on this evening before I'll get a chance (if I get a chance) today.

I'm now at Drupal 6.12, not sure how or why, but the problem is now cleared for me.
