Image node, cck image, comment upload.. Differences

Description

For the sake of clarity, I hope you'll indulge this question here.

CCK image field = images stored in tables that are "attached" to the cck node. Can attach multiple images per cck node.
Image module (image attach) = new nodes that contain an image. Images are stored in individual nodes.
File attachment (on node) = similar to Comment upload
Comment Upload = images (or other files) that are stored in tables that are "attached" to the comment. Similar to CCK method.

And, each one is completely separate. Am I thinking right here? Thanks!
