The search score is a meaningless number to all but those with a detailed underlying understanding of how the search system works. Having that column there just makes the table wider. It's obvious that if I search for a keyword, the results will be sorted by relevancy. I don't need to see the guts. I'd suggest unchecking the box in that field to display it in the view output.

merlinofchaos commentedAs I said earlier, if score is not visible, you can't sort on it. If it's not sorted on score, then just get rid of the search, because it becomes nearly useless.
If you want a useless search, by all means, get rid of it.

dwwIt's helpful so we can sort by relevancy. I think that's more important than the cost of the extra column. Yes, it's too bad that the numbers are so small on d.o that when rounding them to 3 decimal places, they're often 0.000, but I don't think making this column any wider is going to make anyone happier. ;)
