Issue Summary

To make this a truly awesome module I suggest ...

Integration with location/gps modules
Add skillset terms to each job (accountancy, bookkeeping, carpentry, driver etc), taxonomy
Add job type terms to each job (full-time, part-time, temporary, unpaid etc), taxonomy
Add a circa per annum renumeration field to each job
Add age and gender qualifications to each job (min age, max age, male check, female check)
Add a centre point gps co-ordinate for each job
Add a employer node field for each job including a hide checkbox (lookup to employer profile)
Associate employer nodes to agent profiles
Create a profile content type for prospective employees
Allow users to state their location as an address including gps co-ordinates
Allow users to create a skillset
Allow users to set their job type terms
Allow users to set their minimum and maximum annual renumeration
Allow users to enter their date of birth and gender
Allow users to enter a default CV and check box to allow employers to read
Allow users to enter other CV's and to check these manually against specific jobs on the application form
Create a subscribe to similar jobs function to create a proximity search on jobs of the skillset and job type, renumeration and gender
Send notifications of similar jobs by email to prospective employees
Send notifications of similar applicants by email to prospective employers

Thanks for all the interesting ideas. If you have patches for any of that, by all means send them along as I'd want you to get full credit for all the work it would entail.

Great list of features. To create some of these features we would require dependencies but the selling point of this module is "with no additional module dependencies beyond Drupal core".

What are your thoughts on adding some dependencies for greater functionality?

I don't categorically have a problem with adding dependencies if that's what the majority of current and potential users want. One concern I have though is keeping job_posting distinct from it's 'distant cousin' job_search module. I originally wanted job_posting to be as light as possible, facilitating the communication between employers and job seekers without taking on responsibility for storing resumes, for example, or getting into the need to install a dozen other modules before it works at all. What I like about the recent 'Views' integration feature is the fact that you don't have to be using Views to make use of job_posting (I almost never use it on my own projects, for instance) but if you want it, it's there. This kind of 'optional dependency' approach (forgive the oxymoron!) is what I'd prefer to see moving forward.

Any lurkers want to chime in? It would be nice to know who's actually using job_posting and, more importantly, who isn't using it because feature x is missing, etc...

Hi, Great module, really love it! A quick couple of feature enhancements:

(1) Can we get it to apply Drupal's HTML/URL filters on fileds (such as:Description, website URL, Contact person) so it automatically turns web or email addresses into links when published.

(2) Web Address validation - can the validation apply Drupal's HTML/URL filter on it or improve the validation so that it cleverly validates the web address so that you don't have to get the user to type "http://" prefix.

Some of our users are just Old and tech-phobic, so are easily confused with even the web basics. So this would help in the Charities where we are using this module.

Warm regards,
Raj

Just a bigger feature request which may or may-not be possible at this point:

- The ability for a shopping cart style jobs board. Where people can add jobs to a shopping cart like Jobserve.com. So they browse around, look at the jobs they might wish to apply to, add them to their own shopping cart. This would be useful for an idea where we want to advertise jobs on a common charities website shared by a number of charities across the UK.
