Noticed that creating a new block displays a series of empty book rows on the configuration page. Once the block has been saved, the book rows appear normal. I've attached a few screenshots so you can see.

It doesn't do that in my installation. I just now tested to be sure. Try version 1.6, and make sure you visit the update.php page and clear the cache.
