One important detail is this: if you are a registered user then the message gets sent to your address, not the one keyed in. The email of an authenticated user has presumably been validated, so this gives you a chance to get the message even if the address is mis-keyed.

I am reopening this one.
The problem is when somebody who is not a user tries to send and checks the box for a copy. He or she will not recieve one - the problem does not ocur for logged in users.
Actually it can be seen from the SEND table where sender email is only stored for logged in users.
