Fatal error: Cannot redeclare date_import_taxonomy_form2node()

Hi all,

I just received this error (below) when trying to enable some a few modules. The last message I saw before this fatal error was something to the affect of "you must enable the Locale module to enable Date Locale". I said "ok" and then this error hit and I seem to be only able to visit cached pages now.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare date_import_taxonomy_form2node() (previously declared in .../html/sites/all/modules/date/date_tools/date_tools.module:877) in .../html/sites/all/modules/date/date_copy/date_copy.module on line 261

i also got this exact error while updating modules and now my entire site is down...only the Fatal Error page appears. Any solutions?

If anyone else gets this error, simply delete the entire date module folder that you've installed, then reinstall a fresh one. I found the solution from the post copied below; found here.

Messages about previously declared variables indicate you have more than one copy of some files or you have old files that should have been cleaned out. You need to empty date and calendar folders and put the latest code in. ...
