Hi all fellow Drupal fans,
My team site at work runs on 4.6.3. I'm really enthousiastic about the features, stability and performance.
However, we need to externalize our documentation which currently resides in Drupal as books.
I'd like to enable the "Export to DocBook" feature found on this site. Can I just drop in the book.module from CVS without breaking anything and without making it a pain to upgrade to 4.7 when it comes?
I've seen a number of post and patches related to doing this but nothing that answers that aforementionned questions.
Thanks a lot,
Starman

DocBook Export
Hi Starman,
I have a 4.6-based version of book module which supports XML import and export, and a much better export to DocBook XML.
The 4.6 released version of book module exports a rather limited DocBook representation. The CVS head version won't drop into 4.6 because of the new forms API and possibly some other changes.
If you need this right away, let me know - otherwise, I'm working (with webchick) to get all of this into 4.7.
Regards, Djun

Thank you puregin. But as 4.7.0 gets near, I can afford to wait.
Thank you again for your work.

How does this work?
Does this work as an input filter that takes docbook XML in and gives HTML out, or does it somehow turn HTML into docbook?
In any case, I'm also anxious to see one of these for 4.6.

I am looking for a DocBook importer for Drupal 6, hope someone can help?
