hi there... if this is what I think it is - the ability for user based mailing lists (instead of entire installation based) then I'm very interested, would be happy to sponsor further development!

I have no plans to release this module. It wasn't released because Simplenews wasn't released. I don't have time to clean up the code and release it anytime soon. Additionally, I'm not using the module for anything at the moment.

I've requested to have it rolled into Simplenews itself at http://drupal.org/node/461436. I'd be willing to give guidance on the patch and help with it.

Or, if someone else want's to be the maintainer and release it that would be fine.

I've asked again on #461436: Bring over functionality of Simplenews Subscription Manager about inclusion in Simplenews. In the meanwhile here's a zip with all the CVS files in it.

No downloads available. So, why is this listed as a module? If you don't have the time to do it don't create a new module... I guess.

Thanks for posting your module in #3, guix. It does exactly what I needed.

It took me a little while to realize the only controller to configure is within the /admin/content/simplenews/types/edit/*. A Read Me file would have helped. I'd also like to see the added Navigation menu items be configurable in the menu administration menu. I think now the new menu items are whipped up dynamically. I'd like to control the weight as to where the menu items appear.

I hope this module continues, because it does exactly what I need. I had a pseudo solution going with TAC Lite, but the Newsletter Manager's role had to have "administer subscriptions" permission, in which the Newsletter Manager had access to not only their own but also an "All" list of users that I just wasn't able to restrict. In effect, each Newsletter manager had access to the entire pool of subscribers, and I just couldn't have that.

This module that delivers what it says. Thanks. I hope it improves and finds a permanent home.

Mfer, I have no plans to include it into simplenews. I have barely the time to maintain it and are therefore very restrictive in what I add. Perhaps you and guix can maintain the SSM module together.

@Sutharsan thanks for your response and clarification.

I have no plans about continuing the module. I do not have the time to do so. If someone else wants to take it over they are more than welcome to do so.

I'm filing this issue as won't fix. Consider this module abandoned. If someone wants to continue the work or clean up the code they are more than welcome to it.
