search using proximity of postal code not working

Issue Summary

A crucial part of the site is the ability to search using proximity of postal code; i.e. search within 5 miles of EC1V 0BB. This is not working and needs. I am using Location Module, (Gmap, Views).
Please help me......

When I search for 92056 (Oceanside, CA) using my location view here, I get 92083 (Vista, CA) before I see Oceanside listings. The view says Vista locations are closer to Oceanside than Oceanside locations. How can this be?
